'Clean Up' Bugs

Grey Isopods ( Porcellio Sp. )

- Isopods are very easy to keep and great to keep tanks clean. They will feed on uneaten foods, mold, and even dead cockroaches. They do better when housed on colonies that have substrate and/or high humidity. Isopods are very high in calcium and can be used as feeders for a variety of animals such as: Fish, aquatic turtles, invertebrates, frogs, small reptiles etc.

Starting Colony: $25 ( 100 Mixed )

Lesser Mealworm Beetle ( Alphitobius diaperinus )

- Along with the grey isopods, the lesser melworm beetles are the two favorite species of 'clening crews' for my roach colonies. Larvae will eat almost anything not eaten by the cockroaches, they'll also feed on dead roaches and their waste. A variety of animals enjoy feeding on them; like young bearded dragons, chameleons etc. They breed very well when housed in large colonies. I reccomend to keep their numbers low by removing some adults every few weeks.

Starting colony: $ 20 ( 100 Mixed larvae )
